Role Responsibility An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Education and Young People's Service - SEND department. About the team The successful candidate would be leading a team within the SEND service focusing on the Phase Transfer elements of the casework portfolio. This will include transition from Nursery to Primary, Infant to Junior, Primary to Secondary, Secondary to KS5 and continuation of placement or transition to Higher Education, Employment or Adult services at year 13 or 14. The team will work closely with the other Casework and Assessment teams in SEN and the SEN Data Coordination team and Co-ordinated Admissions within Fair Access. The role is a full time, countywide role and you will report to the SEND Countywide Project Manager. This is a hybrid role and there is an expectation that you will be in the office for 2 days per week. This will be at your local office, however travel to an alternative office may be required for countywide meetings. What we are looking for The role requires the successful candidate to demonstrate an understanding of relevant SEND legislation and processes to ensure decision making for children and young people is compliant, consistent and ensures their individual needs are met. This is alongside the demands of providing high quality, accurate data reporting and supporting process change to ensure KCC continues to refine and improve the way it fulfils its legal duties. The successful candidate will be working with young people and their families, educational settings, and other relevant stakeholders, so excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
