About the Role
As a Barista & Bistro Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing an exceptional dining experience for our residents and guests. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing and serving a range of hot beverages, meals, and snacks such as fresh juices, nutritious salads, baked potatoes, sandwiches, and more. You’ll also serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner to residents who wish to dine in the bistro, ensuring they receive the highest standard of service. After meals, you’ll maintain a clean and inviting environment for all.
Your role will also involve engaging with our residents on a daily basis, offering friendly, compassionate, and respectful service while maintaining their dignity at all times. You’ll help uphold our high standards of cleanliness, safety, and hospitality within the bistro area, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all.
Here are some other important things you need to know:
* Ideally, previous experience in food preparation and beverage service, particularly in a barista or catering role.
* Ideally, experience in a care home environment or working with elderly individuals.
* Ensure the bistro environment is consistently clean, organized, and safe, meeting all health and safety standards.
* Engage with residents in a positive and caring manner, providing outstanding customer service and supporting their individual needs.
* Stay vigilant regarding residents' physical and mental well-being, being attentive and responsive to any signs of distress or discomfort.
* Monitor the condition of all catering equipment and immediately report any faults to the Maintenance team to ensure everything remains in safe, working order.
* Adhere to statutory and legal requirements, including HACCP, Health & Safety regulations, COSHH, and Environmental Health standards.
