Rutherford Cross is delighted to be retained by our key private equity backed client to recruit a Finance Business Partner (Enva Recycling Scotland) for a 12-14-month FTC.
Reporting to the Enva Scotland Senior Finance Business Partner (based in Linwood, Scotland) and with extensive engagement with Enva Scotland Operations and Commercial Directors, this role is critical in driving analytical and commercial best practice, efficiencies and profit across Enva Scotland.
It is expected that principal ongoing responsibilities will include:
* Providing key support and mentorship to the Finance Business Partner Analysts
* Managing weekly forecast process for the local Senior Management Team to ensure accurate and timely delivery
* Driving the annual Budget process and any subsequent reforecasting exercises required from the group central finance function
* Reviewing management accounts with the management accounts team, and investigating and resolving variances to plan
* Working with the Senior FBP and local management team to take any necessary corrective actions from the variances identified to drive the performance of the business
* Working to provide and explain financial data to the operational stakeholders
* Working with the business and other stakeholders to ensure the KPIs used in the business are appropriate and effective
* Preparing and commentating on financial inputs to monthly Board packs and material stream monthly performance review packs, adding sufficient narrative to provide the story behind the numbers
* Ad hoc analysis as requested by the Senior FBP and senior management group
* Generation of business improvement ideas and initiatives to reduce costs and improve financial and operational performance
* Working with the Senior FBP and local management team on wider business processes continually to seek and improve both operational efficiency and divisional profitability
* Supporting operational personnel in financial aspects of capital project approvals of varying size, and providing relevant financial challenge
* Liaising with Group Finance on group initiatives and projects relevant to Recycling Scotland, including supporting future strategy and acquisition planning
* Deputising for the Senior Finance Business Partner as appropriate
* Safety – to support and drive the Health & Safety culture including ensuring all activities of the new role are performed in a safe manner that is compliant with Enva Group policy
To be successful in this role, you will:
* Be a holder of recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA) unless exceptional reasons apply
* Have a broad financial background in a business-to-business multi-site (or similar), or manufacturing/processing organization
* Be able to demonstrate business acumen / commercial awareness and understanding
* Have excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
* Have hands on experience with statistical analysis involving the extraction, manipulation and reporting of complex data sets
* Have excellent analysis, reporting and communication skills and have the ability to foster good working relationships with colleagues
* Be able to prioritise successfully in order to identify and meet key issues and challenges
