The role: As a Roughneck, you will work under the direction of the shift driller to undertake drilling operations using Fugro's specialized marine drilling equipment. You will be responsible for operating drilling equipment, including pipe handling cranes and mud mixing systems. Your role will frequently involve lifting and maintenance tasks, and you will work alongside the Assistant Driller to deliver geotechnical data safely and efficiently for our clients. You will collaborate with various stakeholders within Fugro to retrieve accurate and concise borehole data. Your responsibilities will include mixing drilling fluids, maintaining drilling equipment, and performing in situ testing, logging, and sample recovery operations alongside Fugro colleagues. Who we're looking for: We are looking for candidates who are flexible and willing to travel and stay away from home for prolonged periods about 4 to 6 weeks at a time. Weekend and night shift work will also be required. You should have the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions offshore, performing physically demanding work within legal limits. Fluency in English and effective communication skills are essential for this role. Operations consist of 4-week on, 4-week off, with 12-hour shifts, 7 days a week.
