Please visit The Sandwell Deal via this hyperlink https://sandwelldeal.co.uk/ As a Newly Qualified Social Worker working in the Trust: - We will ensure you are looked after by our ASYE Academy and enrolling you on to the national DfE / Skills for Care 12-months Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) Programme and having a dedicated ASYE Assessor to support and monitor your learning and development, assessing you against the Post Qualifying Standards (PQS). You will have regular supervision with your team manager, group supervisions with an Advanced Practitioner and your team, monthly Reflective Consultations with your ASYE Assessor, input from Advanced Practitioner, be trained in risk assessment tools and SCT practice models to achieve the best outcomes for the Children and Families within Sandwell. You will have a monitored, flexible and smaller allocation of children and young people (CYP) than a more experienced social worker, the children and young people you have allocated to you will increase in number and complexity as you progress through your ASYE programme. By the end of the 12 months ASYE programme you should be able to consistently demonstrate practice in a wider range of tasks and roles and have become more effective in your interventions with CYP, families and carers, building in confidence, and earning the confidence of others. You will have throughout the duration of your ASYE frequent access to dedicated ASYE Learning & Support Days and planned ASYE Portfolio Progression time- so that you continue to learn as part of your continuous professional development. A very clear career pathway that enables you to see how you can progress your career in social work within the Trust. About you: You must be a SWE registered Newly Qualified Social Work or about to qualify and able to demonstrate experience of working with children and families. It would be highly desirable to have completed a statutory social work placement. Be able to communicate effectively at all levels – both written and verbal. A focused and reliable individual who can demonstrate how they have the child at the heart of their work. Someone who really cares about the children and young people they work with. Be able to work well in a team and autonomously.
