Payroll Officer-Hybrid (one day a week in the office)

This client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll Officer to join their team.
Your new role
* Manage monthly and weekly payrolls using workdays.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
* Handle pensions automatic enrolment.
* Process new hires and terminations.
* Manage absences including SSP, SAP, SMP, SPP, ShPP.
* Review exception reports to identify anomalies.
* Liaise effectively with HR, line managers, finance, benefits administrators, external providers, and HMRC.
* Respond to pay-related queries from staff, HMRC, and other bodies.
* Assist in reporting annual ONS data.
* Provide accurate and timely payroll services.
* Offer advice and guidance to employees and managers.
What you'll need to succeed
* Minimum 2 years' experience in high-volume payroll processing.
* In-depth knowledge of PAYE, NIC, SSP, SMP, SAP.
* Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel and Word.
* Familiarity with RTI processes.
* Knowledge of pensions auto-enrolment legislation.
* Recent experience with Workday payroll system is ideal
