Purpose of the Role: The ADAS Commodity Owner is responsible for both the physical ADAS component (combined sensor and ECU) and the overall software release that is contained within that component. Ownership of the physical component includes the packaging and integration of that component into the vehicle. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Define and maintain design guideline documents and hardpoints. Responsible for ensuring correct packaging and integration of the component into vehicle programmes. This includes both mechanical and electrical requirements of the component, plus ensuring the vision requirements for any sensor elements are achieved. Plan component parts required (both type and numbers of) to support the different build phases of vehicles, from prototype and development vehicles through to production. Maintain the BOM for both the hardware and software elements of the commodity. Work with the Supplier and system developers to understand the timing plan for software releases. Ensure alignment of those software deliveries to key software integration milestones and communicate these within the business. Plan for volume build of the commodity, considering whether components are delivered pre-flashed with software or are updated internally. Define production requirements associated with the commodity, including any end-of-line calibration routines and other processes needed. Ensure that these are trialled, and any issues resolved ahead of volume production. Be the first point-of-contact for production issues relating to the commodity in build. Where these are physical installation or component issues, work to find a resolution to these. Where build issues relate to software behaviour, direct the system developers and Suppliers to understand route cause and find a solution. Support continuous process improvements, and mentor more junior members of the ADAS/AD Hardware team. Internally interfacing to all members of ADAS and wider SW&ET engineering, purchasing, logistics, quality, design, and manufacturing teams Externally interface and manage key Hardware technology partners Qualifications & Experience: Excellent level of knowledge of ADAS sensors and hardware Good Experience of automotive electronics component ownership Clean Drivers license Working level knowledge of Vector CAN tools An understanding of vehicle diagnostic tools Working level of knowledge of ADAS features About You: Comfortable working to deadlines and holding others to account Good attention to detail Willingness to travel Fast learner Agile, creative, and courageous to enable achievement of company targets.
