Service Engineer

Our established client has grown to become a leading player in their field, delivering safety solutions nationwide. Due to rapid growth plans, they are now recruiting a Service Engineer to provide a key support function to the company, enabling them to continue to provide a first-class service within their Workshop and Service department.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
1. Complete onsite visits – visiting customer sites using the equipped onsite vehicle as required by the business.
2. Carrying out inspections, service, repairs, and testing of safety equipment in accordance with current legislation and manufacturer guidelines.
3. Strong customer relationship skills – ability to think on feet and ask for advice when required from internal sources.
4. Inputting hire and service information onto the Syrinx database system.
5. Updating/maintaining existing information on the Syrinx database system.
6. Provide technical support to end users via the phone or whilst onsite.
7. Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the workshop and ensure a safe working environment.
8. Responsible for keeping the onsite vehicle in good working order, reporting any issues to be resolved, and ensuring the vehicle is always clean and maintained.
9. Supporting the rest of the team when not onsite.
10. Any other tasks as required.
About You:
1. Previous experience in a workshop environment is desirable but not essential.
2. Current and valid driving license (category B as a minimum).
3. Good MS Office suite and database skills.
4. Strong organisational, time management, and prioritisation skills, including the ability to multi-task in a controlled manner and find material/information in a timely fashion.
5. Ability to communicate at all levels of the business.
6. Excellent people skills and customer-focused.
7. Training will be provided where required on systems.
8. Manufacturer training will be given after the completion of a probationary period.
9. Experience driving LWB vehicles is an advantage but training will be provided.
The successful candidate will need to have a flexible approach to working hours as travel to customer sites will be required to fulfil the role, which will include early starts or later finishes, and the role includes some overnight stays.
