The Associate Dean for Dental Foundation Training is an important and influential post both regionally and nationally. The post holder will have responsibility for all Dental Foundation Training programmes and will be in a position to influence developments to meet future workforce needs. Support recently qualified dentists to develop into safe vibrant independent performers to enter the NHS performer list through high quality foundation training. Strategically and operationally manage a team of Training Programme Directors (TPDs) to achieve these goals. Representing the Directorate at both local and national meetings will be a requirement. Regional work will focus firmly upon improvement and the quality of patient and learner safety and experience, and ensuring effective educational outcomes, both now and in the future. The post holder will be an important member of the Dental Directorate Executive Team to support to develop and improve education and training delivery for the benefit of patient care.
