An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Community Mental Health Nurse to join our Memory Team in Middlesbrough, based at Woodside Resource Centre. We are looking for a dynamic, positive and forward-thinking clinician with a passion for caring for people with cognitive impairment, their families, and carers. Please note this is a 12-month fixed-term job share opportunity.
Main Duties of the Job
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and be able to demonstrate best practice in community mental health service delivery for older people, their families, and carers. The ability to work independently, effectively, and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, with external partners, and most importantly - with people, their families, and unpaid or paid carers, is an essential part of this role.

Candidates must have 18 months post-qualifying experience, including sign-off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.
Applicants must ensure that prior to applying they have agreement from their current line manager that they can be released on a secondment basis. In the event that permanent funding is secured for this post, the successful applicant will be confirmed in post on a permanent basis.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council - RNMH or RNLD (RNSC - CAMHS only) - RGN (if appropriate)
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
* Recognised sign-off mentor, clinical educator, or equivalent. Must be achieved within agreed timescale.
* Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing clinical supervision OR willingness to work towards within 6 months.
Experience
* 18 months post-qualifying experience including sign-off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.
* Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers.
* Providing clinical supervision to individuals or groups as professionally appropriate.
* Supervising or assessing students on practice placement.
* Working in a multi-disciplinary team.
* Quality improvement activities.
Knowledge
* Demonstrable knowledge to post-graduate level of evidence-based practice in caring for patients in the designated field.
* Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act).
* Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
* Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice.
* Clinical Governance and its application in practice.
* Research and development methodology.
* Understanding of psychological models of care and treatment.
* Working knowledge of clinical medicines management, including administration of injections.
