Devops Engineer, Transactional Storage and Config (TSC)
The Transaction Storage & Config (TSC) team is looking for a DevOps Engineer to enable the movement of critical Amazon data allowing business service workloads to operate in regions of their choice. The end-state architecture will enable services to break region coupling while retaining the ability to keep critical business functions within a region. This architecture will improve customer latency through local affinity to compute resources and reduce the blast radius in case of region failures. You will be responsible for operationalizing data migration/replications, troubleshooting, maintenance, customer engagement, and identifying opportunities for automation to improve developer productivity. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, have good verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, be able to juggle multiple tasks at once, work independently, and maintain professionalism under pressure. You must be able to identify problems before they happen and implement solutions that detect and prevent outages. You must be able to accurately prioritize projects, make sound judgments, work to improve the customer experience, and get the right things done.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of software development or 2+ years of technical support experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
- Experience in Unix
- Experience scripting in modern programming languages
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with AWS, networks, and operating systems
