Job Title: Service Manager – Residential Childcare\nLocation: Edinburgh\nSalary: £49,229 - £56,516 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)\nContract: Permanent, Full-Time\nHours: 39 hours per week\n\nAbout the Role:\n\n21 Health and Social Care are looking to recruit an experienced Service Manager to join one of our clients Residential Childcare and Education Services - a market leading provider in the field with an array of resources and high quality service provision. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to lead and manage a residential home, supporting children and young people with emotional, behavioural, and social needs to reach their full potential.\n\nAs a Service Manager, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment, ensuring high-quality care and positive outcomes for the young people in your care. This role requires strong leadership, operational management skills, and a passion for making a difference in children's lives.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the residential service in line with organisational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.\n\n * Provide strong leadership and guidance to the staff team, ensuring they are supported and motivated to deliver person-centred care.\n\n * Develop and maintain care plans and risk assessments that reflect the individual needs of the children and young people.\n\n * Promote safeguarding practices and ensure that the highest levels of care and protection are maintained at all times.\n\n * Work in partnership with external agencies, families, and stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for the young people.\n\n * Support the recruitment, training, and development of staff to ensure the team has the skills and knowledge to provide outstanding care.\n\n * Ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate regulations and maintain high standards of care at all times.\n\nQualifications and Experience Required:\n\n * SVQ Level 4 in Social Services (Children and Young People) or equivalent.\n\n * Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management role within a residential childcare setting.\n\n * Strong knowledge of Care Inspectorate regulations and SSSC codes of practice.\n\n * Proven experience of leading and motivating staff teams.\n\n * Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.\n\n * Commitment to promoting children’s rights, wellbeing, and participation.\n\n * Full UK driving licence is essential.\n\nWhat’s in it for You?\n\n * Competitive salary + sleep over allowance.\n\n * 35 days holidays per year.\n\n * Pension Scheme.\n\n * Supportive management team and career development opportunities.\n\n * Ongoing training and professional development.\n\n * Employee assistance programme.\n\n * A rewarding role where you can truly make a difference in young people's lives.\n\nHow to Apply:\n\nIf you're passionate about supporting young people and have the skills and experience to lead a dedicated team, we'd love to hear from you.
