Are you passionate about person-centred care and team working to support people to live their best lives at home and maximising individuals' engagement into their daily environments?
Then this senior Learning Disabilities Occupational Therapy position sounds like the right opportunity for you!
The people on your caseload will all have a Learning Disability (LD) and may include those with complex communication difficulties, sensory needs, and behaviours of concern, health and social care needs and physical disabilities. The work is all based in the community so it is important that you have your own transport to be able to travel from one location to another.
We work with a multidisciplinary team consisting of psychology, nursing, speech & language therapy and social workers and you will have responsibility & line management for another occupational therapist working in the same area. You will also support the Therapy Services Manager in service development and management of the day to day running of the LD Occupational Therapy Service.
You will work within the well-established Occupational Therapist team and will use highly specialist skills to assess the impact of an individual’s learning disabilities on their occupational performance through the use of specific OT standardised and non-standardised assessments. You will implement, monitor and evaluate highly specialist treatment programmes to get the best outcomes.
