Location: Portsmouth (HM Naval Base) Service Area: Service Delivery, Locks & Docks Hours of Work: 37 Per week Salary: Competitive What You’ll be doing: An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Plater/Fabricator as part of KBS Maritime Locks and Docks team, where you’ll be carrying out Planned assisting in Dock preps, Docking and undocking of vessels in PNB. This role will also include the daily operation of tirfors, fitting of shores, undertaking basic slinging tasks and line handling for movement of vessels and caissons, and carry out structural repairs to pontoons and brows. You’ll Have: Ideally, you’ll have Served and successfully completed a recognized Shipwright/Plater Fabricator apprenticeship and in possession of a relevant trade qualification, and/or, working knowledge/understanding in the safe operation and use of tirfors, shores and the relevant hand tools. You’ll also be exposed to mmetalwork, specifically welding and woodwork skills required for maintenance and repair of brows, pontoons and dockside infrastructure and the use of relevant hand tools. Essentially, you’ll be prepared to support all outputs and disciplines to achieve KBS Maritime contract delivery requirements and evidence the willingness to work as part of team to deliver customer requirements by supporting KBS Maritime team members and collaboratively work toward achieving KPI targets and customer expectations. About you: You’ll be able to build positive relationships, demonstrate emotionally stability, and be confident in your own ability. Coupled with the ability to identify key issues, you’ll also be able to demonstrate excellent collaboration with various internal and external customers which will be critical for creating a team delivery ethos and ethic.
