We are looking for a Full-Time Scientist (Hydrology- Hydrometry) on a Permanent basis

Work that goes beyond your desk

As a Scientist for Hydrometry, you will act as an ‘Area Hydrologist’ for the Argyll and Bute area of the hydrometric network, working closely with an Assistant Hydrologist and other members of the North East area team to ensure the quality of hydrometric data collected meets SEPA’s needs.
Your role will include:
* Operating and maintaining the Hydrometric network within the Argyll and Bute area
* Analysing and reporting quality-controlled results in a timely manner
* Working with assistant scientists to plan field visits to include maintenance and meeting gauging targets
* Participate in the operation of flood warning systems as a Duty Officer on a rota basis as required

* Experience in Hydrology with experience in hydrometric monitoring
* Experience of Hydrometric monitoring procedures and stage – discharge relationships along with good communication and IT skills
* Full clean UK driving licence
