OW UK is the parent company of the OW UK businesses and OW Operations is the company that provides operational support to the offshore windfarms in operation.

This role incorporates the Management of the OW UK finance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of the OW UK, OW Operations and other Holdco accounts and timely recharging of costs to the projects.
Ensuring the preparation of relevant accounting reports in accordance with the Department’s guidelines to contribute to the optimization of all accounting activities.
The role will be based in OW UK's Edinburgh Office with a Hybrid Working Policy, a requirement to be in the office three days a week.
Occasional travel may be required.
Main Accountabilities Management of the OW UK finance team and the responsibilities of the team such as: • Preparing monthly management accounts for multiple companies, from basic transactional level up to finalized accounts, ensuring all relevant accruals and journal entries are posted and reflected accurately; • Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the general ledger bookkeeping for the company • Supporting with requests from internal and external audit; • Responsible for completion of quarterly VAT returns.
• Preparing the monthly reporting of operational actual spend against the budget and investigating significant variances with the relevant budget owners.
• Ownership of month end activities for OW UK, including posting of accruals and prepayments.
• Supporting the Finance function in the Control, Banking and Financial Accounting processes.
• Assist in preparing & maintaining the general bookkeeping for the company with particular focus on the Purchase Ledger.
•SAP Procurement Support.
•Oversight of the creation of Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders and Variations.
• Assisting with the review of payments of vendor invoices for the company; Oversight of the completion and execution of twice monthly payment runs.
• Recharging OW UK incurred costs to relevant projects, ensuring correct allocations of cost coding.
• Assisting in the preparation of annual statutory accounts.
• Creating and managing assets for office IT equipment and furniture, monitoring depreciation and updating the Fixed Asset Register.
• Executing transactions for IFRS 16 Leasing for office rent and company cars.
• Monitoring and approving credit card expenses processed manually or through SAP Concur.
• Assist in the introduction of budgetary controls into SAP, changing the account assignment structure.
• Checking intercompany postings, correct P&L account classification, and trading partner balance.
• Posting of reallocations where necessary and completing clearing of vendor/customer and transitory accounts.
• Monitoring and checking postings made by assistant accountant colleagues for accuracy.
• Responsible for completion of monthly cash flow forecasts and funding requests.
Academic Background University Degree in Accountancy or Economics.
Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAS) Experience • Qualified or QBE (10 years’ experience in finance) • Experience in the renewable energy sector is considered as an advantage.
Knowledge • Experience working in an Accounting Team for a large business.
Ideally a construction, industrial or a utilities company; • Experience working with SAP or other ERP system are essential; and • Advanced Excel based skills are essential.
