Our Retail Division is an exciting area of Westcoast, working collaboratively with top retailers in the UK. The retail team are a driving force behind our success as no.1 UK distributor for many of our vendors and customers, thanks to the hard work and dedication of these people we can maintain and grow vendor relationships and drive revenue across the business.
What is the role?
As inside account manager you will support the account director in delivering a high-level service to some of our major retail accounts. You will assist in growing revenue & profit and managing product availability through forecast analysis, joining the account director on customer and vendor meetings; analyzing stock and sales information as well as retailer forecasts, presenting performance data, making order recommendations to both external customers and Westcoast product managers whilst strengthening Westcoast’s relationship with one of our key retail partners.
The role is based from the Westcoast Theale, (Reading) office with an expectation to spend at least 2 days at the customer head office.
How will you do this?
1. Work collaboratively with appropriate vendor/retail contacts
2. Conduct & contribute to retailer/vendor meetings
3. Monitor weekly stock and sales
4. Develop and maintain reporting tools to track and enhance inventory flow
5. Manage, implement and analyse all promotional activity
6. Manage the delivery of any pre-agreed performance KPIs with the retail accounts. Putting corrective measures in place as required.
7. Manage and co-ordinate the setup of new products and price updates to existing products
8. Manage the launch of new ranges ensuring 100% product availability
9. Build and maintain client relationships
Is this the role for you?
To be successful in this role you will have some of the following skills and experience and the desire to develop in other areas:
1. Background in retail account management, category management or FMCG account management essential
2. Good understanding of supply chain & logistics in a retail environment
3. Commercially minded with excellent communication skills
4. Analytical - able to spot trends and draw conclusions from data and make stock recommendations
5. Excellent presentation skills
6. Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to develop strong business relationships
7. Able to work effectively under pressure and with changing priorities and workload
8. Able to negotiate with customers, vendors and internal stakeholders
9. Excellent attention to detail
10. Advanced Excel skills
