They also provide a range of services to businesses and individuals. They operate primarily in London and the Southeast.
They are one of the oldest firms of chartered accountants in Britain. They have been an independent partnership for over 150 years and intend to remain an independent specialist firm.
About the Opportunity:
They are looking for a Tax Manager primarily focused on servicing personal tax clients but would also involve some corporation tax and trust tax work.
About the Responsibilities:
As part of an 8-partner practice, you will get involved with a wide variety of tasks such as:
* Personal tax
* Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients
* Some tax compliance work, preparing tax returns for a small number of more complex clients
* Tax planning work, including inheritance tax planning, for existing clients
* Tax advisory work such as advising on the tax implications for directors of a proposal to restructure their owner managed business
* Trust tax
* Managing the tax returns for a small portfolio of trust clients
* Supporting small trust department in relation to tax queries arising
* Corporation Tax
* Managing the corporation tax returns prepared by accounts/audit department
* Preparing/checking a small number of more complex returns
* Supporting accounts/audit department in relation to queries arising and more complex claims
* Developing the tax department
* Meeting prospective new clients
* Providing periodic tax technical updates for our clients and website
* Proactively identifying opportunities to expand tax services
About the Applicant:
The successful candidate will be:
* The ideal candidate would have a strong background in personal tax and a reasonable knowledge of corporation tax and trust tax.
* They would have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and good communication skills with both clients and colleagues.
About the Benefits:
* £55,000-£60,000 salary, dependant on experience – flexible for the right candidate

* 20 days annual leave per annum plus 5 days additional leave at Christmas (decided by the partners) when the office is closed plus 8 BH days per year
* Entitlement to join the workplace pension scheme with Peoples Pension (employee contribution of 5% and an employer contribution of 3% increasing to 5% once you have been in the scheme and firm for 2 years)
