Job Title: Health & Safety Manager
Location: Stockport
Salary: Up to £70,000
Position Type: Full-Time
About the Role:
This is a brand-new position within an exciting, fast-growing business. As the Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company’s H&S policies and processes. This role will focus on ensuring compliance with health & safety, while driving initiatives that promote a culture of safety and sustainability across the organization. You will ensure the organization operates in a safe and environmentally conscious manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Health & Safety:
* Develop and implement Health and Safety policies and procedures.
* Conduct risk, fire risk, and workplace assessments.
* Create method statements and COSHH assessments.
* Develop 'Safe Working’ procedures and provide internal training.
* Oversee internal accident and RIDDOR reporting, conducting investigations when necessary.
* Organize and lead Health and Safety committee meetings.
* Source and manage safety equipment and PPE for the site.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe workplace for all employees and stakeholders.
Core Competencies:
* Strong background in manufacturing and warehousing environments.
* Familiarity with MRP and Just-in-Time principles.
* Experience working in or supporting operations in a fast-paced production setting.
* Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills across teams.
* Proven ability to build and maintain productive cross-functional relationships.
* Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Skilled in interpreting and maintaining structured data for projects and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
* NEBOSH certification in Health, Safety & Environment or equivalent.
* Knowledge of ISO standards, including ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety)
* Proven experience in Health & Safety management roles.
