Rate of Pay: £13.05 - £16.32 per Hour
Summary:
The Business Support Officer will provide administrative support to the Education Safeguarding Service to meet statutory obligations. This role involves managing safeguarding-related data, supporting licensing processes, and ensuring the efficient operation of safeguarding functions. The successful candidate will have strong administrative skills, the ability to handle confidential information, and a commitment to supporting child protection services.
Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to Education Safeguarding Officers, including managing child employment permits and performance licences.
Support the Chaperone Application process by handling guidelines distribution, tracking references, and assisting in training administration.
Collect and manage information from EMS on children and families referred to DV MARAC.
Contact schools and external agencies as required by the Education Safeguarding Officer.
Maintain the Access database of staff training records.
Provide minute-taking support for safeguarding meetings.
Support the principles and practices of the Councils Equal Opportunities Policy.
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and Council procedures.
Adhere to the Councils Corporate Safeguarding Policy and report any safeguarding concerns.
Qualifications:
Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent.
Accurate word processing/typing speed of 35 wpm.
Essential:
Experience using various computer packages, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience providing administrative support for meetings.
Experience working in an office environment.
Knowledge of child protection procedures.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks under pressure to meet deadlines.
