We have an exciting opportunity for a Behaviour Support Worker to join our dedicated team at a welcoming school in Wareham!
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with behavioural needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a supportive and structured environment. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities of Behaviour Support Worker:
* Assist in the development and implementation of behaviour support plans for students to create strategies and interventions tailored to each student’s needs.
* Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with behavioural challenges to help them understand and manage their behaviour, providing guidance and support as needed.
* Regularly observe and record students’ behaviour, ensuring they are making progress towards their goals.
* Participate in meetings and discussions to share insights and strategies for supporting each student’s behavioural and academic growth.
* Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and included.
* Use a variety of behaviour management techniques to engage and motivate students.
* Maintain accurate records of student behaviour and report to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.
Requirements of Behaviour Support Worker:
* Prior experience in a similar role is essential, demonstrating your understanding of the unique challenges and needs of students with behavioural issues.
* Must be able to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with behavioural needs.
* Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour support (desirable but not essential).

* Have the right to work in the UK
* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
* Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
