Job Title: Assistant Management Accountant\n\nSalary: 35k-40k DOE\n\nLocation: Leicester\n\nJob Overview:\n We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to support the Financial Reporting Manager in producing accurate and timely management information to monitor the organization's financial health and facilitate strategic decision-making. This role focuses primarily on the Central Services division, with a strong emphasis on cash and banking operations. You will work closely with non-financial stakeholders, providing clear financial insights while ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nAssist in the preparation of monthly management reporting for the Central Services division, including processing month-end journals and maintaining accurate records.\nPerform and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations for designated areas.\nSupport the management of all aspects of cash and banking, including bank reconciliations and posting manual bank transactions.\nProcess payments via online banking and direct debit.\nAssist with cash flow forecasting.\nSupport external audits by coordinating with auditors and providing the required documentation.\nProvide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as directed by senior finance management, including regulatory submissions.\nOffer cover and support for colleagues across the Finance department when required.\nAssist with the transition to a new finance system, including troubleshooting issues and suggesting process improvements.Requirements:\n\nProven experience in a similar finance role, ideally with exposure to management accounting and reporting.\nACCA or CIMA part qualified.\nStrong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.\nExperience with cash and banking operations.\nProficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., Microsoft Excel, accounting software).\nExcellent communication and business partnering skills, with the ability to work effectively with non-financial stakeholders.\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.\nAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
