UHBW – Consultant in Diabetes & Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine
University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Trust is delighted to have the opportunity to appoint a substantive consultant to join our well-established multi-disciplinary diabetes & endocrinology team. This is a full-time (10PA) post and will offer exposure to specialist secondary and tertiary diabetes and endocrine services in our dynamic and thriving teaching hospital. Applications from candidates wishing to work less than full time are also encouraged.
Applicants must hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or have evidence of being within six months of award of CCT or equivalent by the date of interview. The post holder will also have full GMC registration.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide:
1. Outpatient clinics in diabetes and endocrinology
2. Specialty MDTs
3. Contribution to managing in-patients with diabetes and endocrine problems
4. Contribution to managing GIM inpatients including on call duties
5. Supervision of junior doctors and nursing staff
6. Active participation in departmental meetings
7. Contribution to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
