Job overview
The South Northumberland Community Treatment Team (CTT) are looking to recruit a compassionate and motivated Clinical Psychologist or Psychological Practitioner.
The South Northumberland CTT provides high quality psychologically informed care to adults with serious and enduring mental health problems. This post is within the psychosis pathway, providing evidence based care and treatment to adults experiencing distressing psychotic symptoms and those with bipolar disorder.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the post holder include:
1. The provision of specialist psychological assessment and direct and/or indirect intervention in accordance with NICE guidelines.
2. Offering advice and consultation on psychologically and trauma informed care to MDT colleagues.
3. Liaising with external care providers and statutory agencies to support people and their families achieve and maintain wellbeing.
4. Contributing to the development and delivery of training and on-going supervision for psychology and non-psychology staff as required.
5. Utilising research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team as required.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The following should be considered essential:
* Advanced knowledge and experience of complex assessments, treatment plans and outcome measures for adults with symptoms, or a diagnosis, of psychosis or bipolar disorder
* Advanced knowledge of psychosis
* Ability to provide at least one evidence-based therapy (CBTp, Family Therapy, EMDR)
* Experience in supervising other psychologists/psychological therapists
* Ability to support and advise other professionals working with this group of patients

* Evidence of post graduate study in specialist areas relevant to this field of practice
* Evidence of continuing personal and professional development
* Memberships of appropriate professional body: HCPC, NMC
* Qualifications in two evidence-based therapies (CAT, CBT, MBT, DBT, Family therapy, EMDR)
Knowledge and experience

* Advanced knowledge and experience of complex assessments, treatment plans and outcome measures for adults with symptoms, or a diagnosis, of personality disorder
* Advanced knowledge of personality disorders
* Experience in supervising other psychologists/psychological therapists
Skills and Competencies
Essential criteria
* Advanced skills in managing emotional impact of dealing with highly emotive and distressing situations through self-management and use of the clinical supervision process.
* Ability to demonstrate clinical leadership skills
* Highly developed skills and abilities to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinical sensitive information to clients, their family, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
* Ability to support and advise other professionals working with this group of patients
