Patient Handling Moving patients between beds and trolleys as required Assisting in positioning of patients in preparation for surgery. Transporting patients internal and external to the department Maintaining a high standard of patient trolley cleanliness Demonstrate a professional and polite manner when transferring patients General Duties Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness within the department. Ensure that the department is kept tidy at all times especially corridors. Assist in maintaining table attachments, keeping them clean and tidy Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of all equipment. Assist in the movement of used instruments, linen and clinical/domestic waste to collection points Provide general messenger duties as required Support Theatre staff with the collection and management of specimens as required To demonstrate competence in collecting blood products from blood bank in a timely manner. Able to complete relevant documentation. Seek advice/support from supervisor or other senior members of staff in situations that are unfamiliar Stock Control Assist with maintenance of stock levels within the department by completion of stock check forms and placing of internal orders and by ensuring that the goods are checked in and put away in the required location. Change and replenish medical gas cylinders as required. Assist and support with the collection and recording of good received ensuring that trust policies are followed.
