What You’ll Be Doing
As a Digital and Technology Solutions apprentice, you’ll help deliver innovative solutions that improve the experience for our customers and create a safer, smarter road network.
Working with our Architecture, Design and Technology team, you’ll learn all about National Highways’ digital landscape. From the operational technology that keeps our roads moving to the cloud software and digital applications that help us to function as a business, you’ll be a vital part of National Highways’ mission to digitise everything we do.
Guided by digital specialists on real world projects, you’ll develop skills and knowledge, such as:
* Analysing business problems to develop appropriate digital and technology solutions.
* Applying standard processes, methods, techniques and tools.
* Working effectively with different teams and users on digital technology solution activities and projects.
* Researching, investigating, and evaluate innovative technologies or approaches to develop the best solution.
* Applying relevant legal, ethical, social and professional standards.

To be eligible for the apprenticeship learning programme, you’ll also need to meet these essential requirements:
* Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 / grade C or above, including English and Maths plus one of the following:
* A minimum of 104 UCAS points with A-Levels in at least one STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths), or
* An equivalent Level 3 qualification (e.g. BTEC Extended Diploma) in a related subject, or
* Completed a Level 3 apprenticeship in a related field
To be eligible for a place on the programme, you must be available to attend the 4-day induction, 8 -11 September 2025.
Training
You’ll complete a Level 6 undergraduate degree apprenticeship in Digital and Technology Solutions, which will open the door to plenty of career routes across the digital world.

Due to the salary level of this role, we cannot offer sponsorship for the position for individuals that don't have the Right to Work in the UK. Successful candidates will require Right to Work for the duration of the programme.
