We're looking for a Construction & Engineering Director to join our project team based in London.
Location: Central London, Foley Street
What will you be responsible for?
The regional businesses provide a client-focused service that delivers quality construction projects in a safe, professional, and sustainable manner. They utilize extensive experience working with both public and private sector clients on projects with various complexities, including challenging logistics & access, complex façades (including façade retention), noise restrictions, complex ground conditions, contamination, and technically challenging building services. Project values typically range from £1m to £150m, so agility to respond to specific demands and shifting priorities is essential.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the role will provide functional leadership within the region, oversee the implementation and adherence to business systems, and be the focal point for driving consistency, standards, and improvement in project delivery. Regional revenues are typically £200-400m per annum, with up to 40 projects live at any time.
Your day-to-day will include:
1. Providing functional and operational leadership for the regional business, focusing on improving operational performance, consistency, and standards.
2. Managing HSW, Environmental, and quality resources within the region.
3. Developing plans and objectives for delivering quality.
4. Driving the 'digital by default' agenda and operational performance through digital dashboard reviews, weekly project performance tracking, and working closely with Regional Directors to optimize performance and mitigate risks. This includes promoting the use of tools like Asite, Biosite, Novade, Procore, and Power BI across projects.
5. Exploring industry best practices, sustainable modern methods of construction, and digital enhancements to improve delivery and customer offering, and sharing feedback with the wider Construction & Engineering team.
What are we looking for?
This role is ideal if you have:
* Experience providing functional leadership in planning, building services, design management, social value, digital construction, information management, and engineering.
* Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor in a leadership role.
* Strong people management and leadership skills.
* Forward-thinking commercial acumen.
We value potential and transferable skills, so even if you don't meet every criterion, we encourage you to apply and have a conversation.
