Our client, a market leading Research & Development company, is recruiting to expand their team based out of their state-of-the-art facilities near Southampton.
Role Overview:
The primary goal of this position is to provide both practical and technical support within the exciting field of e-Liquids Discovery, contributing to BAT's drive for innovative breakthroughs in vaping product development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and formulate e-liquids at a laboratory scale.
2. Conduct analytical tasks, creating test protocols and reports, ensuring compliance with defined procedures based on a solid understanding of principles and concepts.
3. Collaborate with external research companies and test houses to review findings and produce summary reports.
4. Develop new procedures and working methods in response to technical challenges, and generate technical reports, presentations, and publications for management approval.
5. Manage and track samples, including setting up appropriate databases.
6. Identify and source relevant category-specific samples for analysis.
7. Identify opportunities for standardizing processes and business systems, and suggest improvements to operating procedures and practices for approval.
8. Senior Technologists will also take a lead role in developing new working methods and generating technical reports, with guidance from Technical Specialists.
Required Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
Essential Criteria:
1. Strong technical understanding of e-liquids chemistry, active ingredients, and associated sciences.
2. Solid technical experience in laboratory practices, specifically related to e-liquid sample preparation and analysis.
3. Experience in data management and basic statistics.
4. Proficient PC skills.
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
6. Excellent analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail.
7. Familiarity with product development processes is desirable.
Initially, this is a contract until mid-February 2026 but could last longer depending on project demands.
Hours: 35 per week
Pay: £17.19 per hour (PAYE)
