MC Plan & Site Services, a Registered Building Control Approver, are looking for an experienced Registered Building Control Inspector to join their team on a Full Time, permanent basis.
As the first organisation to register with the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) as a RBCA in the UK when regulations changed in 2024, MC Plan & Site Services have been evidencing their forward thinking, innovative, and industry leading principles since their inception in 2013.
With Building Control Inspectors providing national coverage, we have experienced a planned period of growth in Dorset, specifically the BH postcode areas, so are looking for a Registered Building Control Inspector to fulfill our ongoing requirements in the region. The successful candidate will join an experienced team of existing Inspectors positioned across the United Kingdom.
MAIN OBJECTIVES
1. To independently manage an allocated geographical area, the mixed tenure of applications within said area, and be the go-to for your regional clients.
2. To maintain a comprehensive knowledge of Building Regulations and other legislation requirements to inform and advise our clients accordingly, ensuring Building Control adherence.
3. To provide advice, conduct regular Site Inspections and record appropriate action for the continuation of client projects.
4. To record and manage your entire workload in conjunction with your Business Support Assistant, who is your dedicated office-based support for all internal administration.
5. To successfully manage the allocation of your time and ensure your workload is kept on top of, fulfilling our promised level of client service.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. To carry out regular Site Inspections in line with governance and client contract periods, ensuring that all correspondence and site information is documented.
2. To provide an efficient and effective service in all aspects of MC Plan and Site Services Building Control Consultancy, promoting our professional service and upholding our reputation, with a focus on client relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
This role will be most suited to a candidate currently working in a Building Control capacity, and whom has registered with the Building Safety Register from 2B or higher, allowing for you to undertake site inspections on projects with a correlating registration unsupervised.
You will have an HNC, HND, a degree, or an equivalent qualification in building studies or related subject. Ideally, you will also be a member of CABE / CIOB / RICS.
We have a bespoke internal Building Control Operating System, therefore strong IT capabilities are essential.
Furthermore, competency with English language, both written and verbal is essential in order to disseminate British governance and regulations.
INTERVIEW PROCESS
Interviews will be conducted in two stages. The first stage will be a competency-based interview with Human Resources, the second with a Company Director together with either our Building Control Manager or one of our Senior RBIs.
BENEFITS
Working hours are 8.30 – 17.00 Monday to Thursday and 8.30 – 16.30 on Fridays with a 30-minute break each day.
Salary offered will be competitive dependent on experience. MC Plan & Site Services will also pay your ongoing annual membership with your preferred body.
