Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The research portfolio in Oncology is expanding, with development of medical and clinical academia in areas from computing to early phase trial recruitment and diagnostics. There is an active NCRN trial portfolio. ICHT has been awarded enhanced CRUK and BRC grants, and there has been expansion of the academic base in Medical and Clinical Oncology.
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust works in partnership within the Academic Health Science Centre of Imperial College, with strong academic opportunities. We are a nationally recognised provider of clinical research in Urological and Colorectal Cancer with high recruitment to clinical trials, locally and nationally. We are also a regional trainer of undergraduates, postgraduates, and oncology trainees, and the role would be key to the support of trainees and medical students.

Essential criteria
1. GMC's register with a Licence to Practice or eligible to apply for GMC registration and a Licence to Practice
2. On GMC's Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted to the register by the date of the interviews or eligible for specialist registration
3. Appropriate Royal College Membership
Leadership/ Management skills
Essential criteria
1. Able to take responsibility, show leadership, make decisions, exert appropriate authority
2. Have proven skills in leading, motivating, developing, and managing the performance of colleagues.
3. Knowledge of finance/budgets
4. Management of staff
Audit

1. Understanding of principles of clinical audit
Academic achievement

1. Evidence of achievement appropriate to appointment at consultant level at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust

1. Able to speak and write English to the appropriate standard necessary to fulfil the job requirements
Knowledge/ Skills
Essential criteria
1. Understand and be competent at treatment of all stages medical or clinical oncology to CCST or higher
2. Maintain up to date knowledge of treatment regimens and research findings
3. Manage oncological emergencies
4. IT Skills and computer literacy
Teaching & Training
Essential criteria
1. Experience of teaching and training undergraduates/postgraduates and junior medical staff
