The role forms an important part of Freightliner’s overall business. Wagon maintenance is essential to business success. The purpose of the role is to undertake the servicing, maintenance, and repair of Wagons to ensure we meet our customer demand. What will be your responsibilities? Adhere to health & safety and local safety policy requirements, and other safety and technical standards Ensure Freightliner company engineering standards and procedures are applied and followed. Maintain, service, and repair wagons in accordance with approved maintenance plans Ensure all relevant paperwork for examinations and repairs is correctly completed to company standards Maintaining high standards of housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe environment On your first day, we’ll expect you to have: Commitment to safe working practices Motivation to take on a new challenge and to further your skills and knowledge. Would suit somebody with an interest in working hands on. There is no requirement for you to have prior employed experience in a similar role. We have both in house and external training to offer to the right candidate. Hours The contractual basic hours for this role is 39 hours per week. Manchester VMF operate a 2 week rotating shift pattern which provides flexibility and work/ life balance. Week 1: Monday – Thursday 0600- 1430, with a 1330 finish time on Friday. Week 2: Monday – Thursday 1400 – 2230, Friday 1030 - 1800.
