Job Summary An exciting opportunity to work in the fast-paced world of Global Automotive Supply Chain within Avnet’s Global Supply Chain Services Team. We provide extraordinary Service, Supply Chain and Fulfilment Program Management into Strategic Automotive Customers and our Supplier Partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence into the supply chain and materials planning / asset function for one or more global automotive suppliers. They will be empowered to ensure that service level agreements are met to the very highest level of supplier and customer satisfaction whilst ensuring the Avnet engagement is run profitably. They will govern supplier MRP, focusing on demand planning, segregated material flow and inventory management, risk mitigation, working capital and financial profitability. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: key point of contact for global suppliers/component manufactures, close working with our Program Management (customer facing) Teams, Sales and Operational Management on the tactical execution of the overall engagement, along with handling various administrative tasks linked to the daily business. Fundamental to this role is a very strong eye for accuracy, with excellent organisational skills, and a logical approach to responsibilities. Overall responsibility and lead for Materials Planning / Asset at a Supplier level Day to day management of MRP signals on ERP (SAP) eg new purchase orders, pull in, push out, cancel. Primary contact point for supplier(s) global customer service teams, and builds a strong relationship with those teams. Escalation / Exception / Issue Management Management of expedites for short term supply issues, for example urgent Inbound requests into our warehouses. Manages the mid to long range supply chain in close collaboration with our Program Management (Customer facing) Team, analysing long term Supply Chain Health, flagging and escalating possible problems before they impact service. Provides support over the lifetime of a product/project, from NPI (New Product Introduction), full production, to EOL (End Of Life) and phase out. Responsible for Key Performance Indicators and monitoring daily service indicators (blocks, case management). Has a deep comprehension of our customised reporting & analytics, and can support on liability validation. Defines, reviews and sets up MRP strategy in line with program frameworks. Ensures Avnet adheres strongly to quality standards and supports suppliers in quality topics (both technical and process quality issues) Participates and contributes in Operations Meetings. Works closely and builds strong relationships with Avnet Global Account Managers, Operational Management, Logistic Teams, and other departments both within EMEA and worldwide. What about you? An understanding of planning (supply and demand), inventory management and production cycles Experience of ERP/MRP systems and planning tools. We use SAP. A great eye for accuracy in data and on our systems. Errors can be very expensive. Strong organisational skills, following up and “closing the loop” on open actions. Comfortable in Excel, and handling data lookups/verification Proactive and comfortable under pressure – it’s a fast-moving business, with occasional high-level escalation calls and meetings. Good people skills both internally and externally – we build strong relationships to be a trusted reliable partner. Able to influence teams internally, plus calm and reassure customers externally with a clear communication style - help others understand the complicated supply chain world. Customers and Suppliers are based in Europe, Asia and the America’s. We offer hybrid working – currently 3 days office based, 2 day working from home (or fully office based if preferred). All employees are provided with laptops. Infrequent foreign travel may be required, including to Serbia or the EU. Travel is not a regular part of this role.
