About the Role
The Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) Higher Level Teaching Assistant role involves supporting groups of children with additional needs such as Challenging Behaviour, ASD, ADHD, and Social, emotional and mental health needs. You will be required to work within group and 1:1 settings with a range of ages and levels of learning.
Your daily routine will involve continuously adapting and working alongside pupils to make their time in school as beneficial and productive as possible. Your main objective will be to support these pupils, ensuring they are not displaying any triggers or signs of unease. A nurturing, patient, and empathetic attitude will be key to your success in this role.
About the School
This SEND school is based in South Bristol and is accessible via public transport; however, access to a car would be advantageous. There is a car park on site. They support a diverse group of pupils with a range of complex learning needs, social and emotional difficulties, and challenging behaviours. We are continually seeking quality caring staff members who, with additional experience and training, may eventually become full-time or even supply support staff members.
Requirements
To be considered for the role of Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) Higher Level Teaching Assistant you will:
1. Have previous experience of working with children or young people, ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play, or care setting within the last 2 years.
2. Be able to provide valid references from these roles.
3. Hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS, registered to the Update Service.

Salary
£90 to £110 per day. Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent experience obtained within the last 2 years of working with children or young people, ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play, or care setting. We must be able to obtain references from these roles.
