The overall responsibility of the role is to take ownership of allocated cases from inception through to completion. Key Accountabilities Take ownership of tasks delegated from the Team Leader such as UAT testing, product set up in fusion, update procedure documents, etc …. Manage the Team in the absence of the Team Leader. To assist in the training, mentoring and be a referral point to less experienced members of the team. Be a referral point for broker support for queries on applications in the absence / unavailability of the Team Leader. Maintain broker relationships that are integral to the growth for WOSL. Promote our Team Ethic. Ensure all underwriting is in line with Company policy and within regulation. Underwrite large loan applications (up to £250k) and maintain a pipeline of cases. Liaising with introducers, valuers and solicitors ensuring an excellent relationship is maintained. Ensure that all cases are Underwritten within the Groups Risk appetite. Skills & Competencies Ability to work as part of a team. Pass internal competency tests post induction. High attention to detail. Good written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge & Qualifications A strong understanding of FCA regulation. Previous experience of managing a caseload and assessing cases for approval in a fast-paced environment Experience within the secured lending sector Experienced in Underwriting 2nd Charge or BTL mortgage applications.
