The Opportunity:
The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) have appointed Laing O'Rourke to a new alliance to build Single Living Accommodation (SLA) for the Armed Forces. The alliance will see 16,000 new bedspaces built as part of a wider MOD plan to build or refurbish 40,000 SLA bedspaces over ten years.
As dedicated Senior Social Value Advisor for this programme, you will be based in our Sale office, providing both remote and in-person support across 3 projects nationally.
Key Deliverables & Responsibilities:
* Lead on the delivery of Social Value Strategies across key projects
* Internally and externally report on the delivery of outputs, raising all risks & issues against contractual KPIs
* Develop and implement delivery plans aligned to central and client SV priorities
* Manage stakeholders and build relationships with delivery partners, site teams and supply chain
* Raise awareness of SV strategy and engage project team(s) in its delivery
* Attend client and project review meetings to report outputs, issues and risks around sustainability targets
* Use Laing O'Rourke's Social Value Playbook to embed social value commitment throughout the procurement process, ensuring all supply chain support our social value commitments
* Monitor and evaluate all social value delivery, tracking outcomes and recording on impact software
* Keep up to date with current social value trends, including impact evaluation and measurement tools
About You:
* A collaborative and influential Social Value champion within the construction industry
* Full UK driver's licence and vehicle access with the ability to travel/work across various projects.
* Builds relationships and manages stakeholders with ease – effectively communicates and coordinates
* Comfortable and confident chairing stakeholder meetings and giving presentations
* Excellent time-management and organisational skills – a proactive self-starter who thrives in pressurised environments and can project manage KPI delivery across multiple projects
* Understanding of social value and its drivers across both public and private sectors, linked to education, employment, and community investment
* Experience of Social Value frameworks, such as the UK Government's Social Value Model and the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals
* Keen to learn and develop whilst contributing and sharing ideas/best practice
