A quick look at the role As a Financial Director for L&S Waste you'd be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the subsidiary organisation, ensuring compliance, managing budgets, and providing financial leadership to support waste management strategies and operations. Your core responsibilities Support the Managing Director in strategic planning, business growth, and decision-making. Manage all aspects of financial control, including budgeting, forecasting, and compliance. Ensure adequate cash flow for operations and investments. Produce monthly management accounts, weekly forecasts, and analytical commentary. Track financial performance against budgets and suggest areas for improvement. Handle quarterly VAT returns, P11D submissions, PAYE, pensions, and audit processes. Involved in P&L, balance sheet, and liquidity planning. Provide pricing guidance, support tenders, and manage annual price adjustments. Develop and manage a high-performing finance team and promote internal financial controls. Drive automation, continuous improvement, and ensure adherence to group processes.. Our essential requirements Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACA or ACCA) with 3 years PQE Proven experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and compliance (e.g. VAT, PAYE, P11D, audits). Ability to provide strategic, commercial, and analytical support to drive business growth, assess investment opportunities, and support decision-making. Experience in leading and developing finance teams, implementing internal controls, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement..
