We are seeking a talented Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team in Sheffield. This role is perfect for someone who combines procurement experience with a solid understanding of engineering concepts and manufacturing processes. You’ll be a self-starter, ready to take ownership of your responsibilities, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across departments. Key Responsibilities: Place purchase orders aligned with stakeholder and business needs, focusing on OTIF demands and pricing obligations. Manage vendor performance and relationships, ensuring integrity of systems, pricing, and nominated sources for MRP/ERP processes. Provide updates on incoming deliveries to Operations and Planning teams, troubleshooting any discrepancies. Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers to enhance performance. Compile and monitor key performance indicators such as OTIF and spend profiles. Manage inventory levels to maintain optimal stock holdings. Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate supply-side inputs into design and ensure compliance with commercial standards. Assess the market and onboard new vendor sources to mitigate obsolescence and support new product introduction (NPI). Proactively review purchasing costs to identify and eliminate waste in processes. Support facilities requirements through contract management and tendering. Assist sales functions in developing and completing customer tenders. Manage the supplier reject process alongside the Quality team, identifying root causes and corrective measures. Key Requirements: 3-5 years of experience in procurement/purchasing within a manufacturing environment. CIPS Level 4 qualification is desirable. Relevant qualifications or experience in an Engineering/Manufacturing field. Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is advantageous. Intermediate Excel skills and knowledge of business systems. Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Creative problem-solver with the ability to anticipate issues and take preemptive actions. Capable of multitasking and working under pressure. Team player committed to deadlines, with a strong work ethic and motivation to follow through on tasks.
