Oliver Sanderson is engaged with a global listed business in Europe, one of the world’s leading Engineering companies. A matrix business with a fantastic UK arm that you will be helping to lead as Commercial Director.
The Commercial Director will sit within the senior leadership team and report to the regional Managing Director. The Commercial Director will hold full responsibility for the governance and control of all commercial activities and processes across the business, maximising profitability and cash control.
Key areas of focus:
* Identify and manage commercial risks / opportunities and ensure robust commercial reporting.
* Deliver profitable contracts and projects.
* Ensure effective cash management and timely revenue collection.
* Conduct regular profit reviews.
* Lead, train and develop the commercial department.
* Produce accurate information for contribution forecasts and monthly cost / value reports.
* C-Suite and stakeholder engagement.
Our client is looking for a strong commercial leader who knows how to lead a business and has extensive experience with commercial management. You will have demonstrable scale and growth experience and have previously managed a large P&L (~£100M). You will have up-to-date relevant knowledge of building legislation as well as strong financial and commercial bills experience. You will be a strong negotiator and influencer with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. We are ideally looking for someone with industry experience in engineering or similar sectors, especially refurb and refit experience within social housing or local authority.

This is a hybrid role with a combination of working from home once a week and the St Albans office 4 days a week. The role will include travel to the London office as well as national travel where required. We are open to candidates who wish to relocate.
