We are seeking a qualified electrician to work within a small team of electricians at Watford General Hospital. Must be able to work unsupervised. May also be required to work at Saint Albans City Hospital and Hemel Hempstead Hospital from time to time.
With additional benefits such as RRP, overtime, call out and on-call payments, there is earning potential in excess of £40,000.

Main Duties of the Job
1. To carry out planned maintenance and fault find electrical circuits.
2. Must be city and guilds trained and to have completed an electrical apprenticeship.
3. 18th edition regulations qualification would be beneficial.
4. Understanding the workings of fire alarm systems and nurse call systems.
5. Able to work on small power and lighting circuits.
6. Partake in the on-call emergency cover rota.
7. Complete PPM as per HTM compliance.
8. An understanding of Generators, Fire alarms, LV panels, Boiler plant, and nurse call systems.

Job Responsibilities
1. Working as part of a team in the estates department looking after the electrical services.
2. You may be asked from time to time to cover duties on our other sites, such as SACH and HHH.
3. You will be required to cover out of hour duties as part of the on-call rota reporting to the on-call manager.
4. At times you may be required to cover supervisory duties.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* A good standard of general education.
* Basic computing skills plus a minimum qualification of City & Guilds 2365 Diploma at Part 2, City & Guilds 2395 Test & Inspection, City & Guilds 2382 17th Edition.
* BTEC ONC in Mechanical Engineering OR BTEC ONC in Electrical Engineering PLUS at least 3 of: CP Pressure Systems, CP Medical Gas, CP HVAC Systems, CP Legionella Management, CP LV Electrical Systems, CP Confined Spaces, Lift Release Course, Manual Handling Training, Risk Assessment Training, Awareness training for Working at Heights including Scaffold Towers, non-mobile Putlock Towers, and Mobile Platforms.
Knowledge
* Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
* Regulations Key healthcare maintenance/engineering policy documents (HTMs).
* General awareness of: Legionella & Water Management, Control of Infections.
* Electrical Distribution and standby generators, Mechanical services including steam, hot & cold water and air conditioning, Plant Building Management Systems, Fire Alarm Systems & Emergency Lighting, Access Control Systems.
Experience
* Experience working in a multidisciplined maintenance organisation, preferably within a healthcare environment.
* Demonstrable experience of working without direct supervision.
* Demonstrable ability at problem solving within a maintenance context.

Salary: £29,828 to £36,311 a year (including HCA). Also including 12.5% R&R to be reviewed annually.
