We are looking for a number of General Machinists which will be responsible for the manufacture of aerospace components to join on a 12-month contract. Please note this role is going to be on a rotating shift pattern (mornings, afternoons and nights). Purpose of the Role: Your role as a General Machinist will involve working on our various CNC machining platforms producing Discs, Drums and any other commodities we support. As a General Machinist, you will be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements. You will also work with cross functional teams to implement and sustain improvement activities within our manufacturing environment. As a General Machinist you will be doing: Work to client's Technical Instructions and program manuals to deliver consistent, high-quality machining across a variety of different components and product families. Operate a variety of Inspection equipment, including machine probing, micrometres, plug gauges. Interpretation of manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications. Assessment of whether the quality of components produced within the facility meets the required standards. What we require from the candidate: Completed an advanced modern engineering apprenticeship and an NVQ/SVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification. Siemens control system experience is preferred. Experience in 3 and 5-axis grinding, milling and turning. Previous experience with aerospace components would be an advantage. Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.Please attach a copy of your certificate as proof of completing a recognised apprenticeship together with/next to your CV.
