This is a Supervisory role within the newly opened canteen at Booker Distribution Fareham
You will have previous experience of managing a working kitchen and ideally proven track record of setting up a new canteen or similar facility
Managing a team of catering assistants, you will provide a hot and cold food service to all colleagues and to ensure that the canteen area is clean and tidy at all times.
The working hours will be Monday to Friday 0800-1600 however as this is a new role these hours may vary.
Management of the day to day operation and catering team ensuring food hygiene guidelines and processes are adhered to (HACCP/Allergen/COSHH etc)
Delivery & management of HACCP best practice within the canteen & vending environments especially due diligence of temperature controls, quality of stock & dates codes
Ensuring high standards of hygiene and housekeeping are maintained throughout the canteen, kitchen and vending facilities
Assisting with any other duties within the catering operation to ensure it runs smoothly
Taking responsibility for the catering P&L (profit and loss)
The reconciliation of cash and credit cards & banking procedure are adhered to
Ordering of stock for food preparation and for the vending machines
Stock Management and Stock Control
Code checking and checking quality of stock
Create and deliver effective cleaning schedules
Vending machine replenishment and management i.e. price changes, cleaning and cash collection
Hospitality Support
Assist in maintaining housekeeping in the canteen & kitchen facilities, dining area and kitchen counters
Food handling qualification
Food Hygiene & Safety for Catering Certificate Level 3
Allergen Training certificate
Attention to detail & the ability to work on own initiative
Experience of working in a supervisory role
The ideal candidate will have an excellent attitude towards customer service with a friendly outgoing personality and be used to working within a team environment
A “hands on approach” & high standard of presentation with the ability to work within a team producing and serving a varied menu to colleagues and visitors on site
The ideal candidate will be required to prepare, cook and serve food along with cleaning duties and stock vending machines
