They have planned an ambitious curriculum for all pupils, including for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) As an SEN Teaching assistant at the school, you will be supporting two children in Reception with autism. As part of your role, you will be required to modify and adapt whole class activities as necessary under the overall direction and supervision of a teacher. The successful applicant would need to have a secure understanding of the EYFS curriculum and previous experience of supporting children with SEN. The school are looking for a dedicated SEN teaching assistant who is willing to commit to a long-term position to ensure consistency for the children. This is a part time position for mornings only (8.45am – 1.00pm) to start immediately and to continue for as long as the children require additional support. Job Role: Supporting children with SEN in the classroom, working closely with the Class Teacher and SENCO. Assisting in the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities. Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with additional needs. Helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Supporting children’s social and emotional development. Liaising with parents, carers, and external professionals as needed. Required Skills and Experience: Previous UK school experience is essential. Strong behaviour management Experience working with SEN pupils, particularly in a Primary School setting. A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Knowledge of Early Years, Reception, and SEN strategies. Ability to work effectively alongside the Class Teacher and other staff members.
