Are you a Physiotherapist (band 5 or 6) looking to develop your skills and knowledge in a community setting?
The Community Therapy Team South Cumbria is seeking to recruit a highly motivated, proactive, and adaptable physiotherapist on a temporary basis as we continue to develop and expand our service.
We are looking for a physiotherapist to join the South Cumbria Community Therapy Team, based at the community offices in Kendal. As part of the South Lakes team, you will support the delivery of high-quality care to patients in the community.
The service works closely with the Integrated Care Communities, local GP practices, Adult Social Care, and hospital discharge teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work independently within the community physiotherapy team undertaking specialist assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with complex problems in their own homes, community hospitals, or residential/nursing homes.
2. Have completed a range of core rotations within the NHS as a physiotherapist with a desire to develop your clinical skills further.
3. Demonstrate and evidence your own professional development.
4. Work autonomously, taking responsibility for managing your own caseload without direct supervision.
5. Develop specialist clinical skills, knowledge, and experience through participation in in-service training and personal development activities, such as external courses and shadowing.
6. Maintain effective communication with patients, carers, and other professionals, including accurate documentation in line with trust and professional standards.
7. Assist in planning and delivering team and departmental training and education sessions, supporting professional development of staff.
8. Supervise the clinical practice of physiotherapy support staff, assistants, Band 5 physiotherapists, and students.
9. Participate in research and audit activities as requested.
10. Be responsible for the clinical education and practice of physiotherapy undergraduates on clinical placements.
Service Hours:
Monday - Friday: 8am - 6:30pm
Saturday - Sunday: 9am - 5pm
Locations:
Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, and community health facilities including Millom Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
