Job overview
Wantage Midwifery Led Unit is part of the Wantage community hospital. It has a wonderful, homely atmosphere with a birthing pool room for women choosing to birth in the community. There is a small yet dedicated team of midwives and support workers who provide care for birthing people and their families in the surrounding area. Wantage is a lovely and upcoming town in South Oxfordshire, ideal for families and ongoing transport links to London and the South coast.
The Wantage team provide antenatal and postnatal care and run clinics in GP surgeries and the community hospital within the Wantage area. They are also on call to provide care to homebirths, midwifery led units and the delivery suite in Oxfordshire.
We are looking for midwives enthusiastic about community births. Flexible working patterns offered.
This role is not eligible for overseas sponsorship. Candidates must have an existing NMC with UK Midwifery experience or be due to qualify as a midwife from a UK based institution in the next 6 months.
Main duties of the job
Full and Part Time hours are available. Must be a car driver and have access to a car during the day and for On Calls.

Qualifications, knowledge and competencies
* Registered Midwife with current UK Registration and a minimum of 6 months employed experience as a midwife in the UK.
* Student midwife due to register by December 2018.

* Able to work as part of a team.
* Demonstrates good verbal & written communication skills.
* Belief in and commitment to women centred philosophy.
