Job Description and Responsibilities:
The Fielding Systems Engineer will ensure that our government customer achieves the desired infrastructure, capabilities, and processes for the deployment of systems and services at the speed of relevance. The Fielding Systems Engineer performing on this contract will possess the required skills, experience, and credentials at the appropriate clearance level and be responsible for executing collaborative fielding integration and interoperability to enhance command and control, communications, and readiness for our customer.
Duties include but are not limited to:
* Provide site surveys, sensor systems assessments, and meeting support during fielding installations.
* Maintain the ability to receive training and serve as a Field Service Representative and installation requirements lead on required passive radar and optical systems sensors when installing at fielded site locations.
* Provide Life-Cycle Fielding Support including component failure tracking and configuration management.
* Provide load planning and documentation for equipment shipment, receipt, and installation.
* Provide installation and site planning support including resource identification, planning, delivery, site setup, site daily operation, and retrograde.
* Maintain close coordination with security personnel to support shipping, receiving, and accountability.
* Provide Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Government Furnished Property (GFP) management and installation recommendations at OCONUS and CONUS site installation bases and stations.
* Conduct site surveys of proposed installation locations to determine site and security service requirements.
* Provide connectivity, communications, and system implementation recommendations for optical and passive sensing systems as required.
* Conduct inventory control of equipment by serial number to ensure all incoming and outgoing system, training, and test equipment is recorded in the site plan.
* Coordinate with the systems administrator to ensure all installed systems have connectivity and can operate in an efficient manner.
* Arrange for material handling equipment for off-loading, loading, and movement of test and training equipment at installation sites.
* Set up and operate test equipment power generation and distribution, and environmental control equipment in controlled site environments.
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Systems Management, Operations, or other related field of study commensurate with requirements.
* Relevant experience and years of service may be considered in lieu of required education.
Required Experience:
* Minimum 4 years experience in supporting operational site surveys, passive/radio systems and sensors, communications systems, and/or radar systems field support integration for DoD systems and services.
* Secret Clearance.
* Past performance in supporting DoD related field support and communications troubleshooting.
* Ability to work as a member of a team with the skills and personality to lead discussions that result in positive desired outcomes.
* Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal, business management, and customer service skills.
* Proven leadership in site survey and field service management role for military systems and solutions.
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
* Conducting basic networking and emplacement of military systems upon receiving proper training manuals.
Preferred Experience:
* TS/SCI Clearance.
* Experience with managing software and hardware integration and understanding of logistics required for communications and sensor system operations.
* Project Management or process improvement experience.
* Understanding of acquisition management support and documentation for fielding software and systems.
* Experience working at military facility locations or field bases for sensors, communications, and radars.
Travel: Up to 20% based on customer needs.
