Who we are
We’re the people behind global loyalty currency, Avios, and home to three ambitious, growing businesses; IAG Loyalty, BA Holidays and The Wine Flyer. Each business has its own goals and strategy, but collectively we create brilliant experiences for our global customers.
We’re on a truly exciting journey of growth and transformation – we’re going places! This is where you come in.
The Opportunity
Finance operates at the heart of IAG Loyalty, providing company-wide finance support, management information and reporting for the Avios loyalty programmes including the BA Executive Club and Iberia Plus.
The department has high exposure to IAG and British Airways and its success is judged by its efficiency, the accuracy and reliability of the information it reports and the value it adds to the decision making process.
As our Senior Financial Reporting Manager you'll play a key role within the team, being accountable for all financial accounting and reporting to the IAG Loyalty Group, managing the annual external audit and owning the IAG Loyalty breakage process.
What you’ll get up to
Financial Reporting
* You'll lead and develop a team of four part qualified direct reports who are responsible for all financial accounting and reporting for IAG Loyalty’s UK and Spanish operations as well as billing and settlement with Air Partners (both within and external to IAG);
* You'll lead the consolidated multi-currency reporting of monthly and quarterly results to the IAG Loyalty Group team;
* You'll lead the response to external audit requirements throughout the year escalating issues to the Head of Loyalty Finance and Head of Group Finance;
* You'll be responsible for the review process for all UK and Spanish journals and balance sheet reconciliations and ownership of associated internal finance controls;
* You'll chair the monthly redemption data governance meetings with IAG Loyalty Data and Pricing teams and IAG OpCo teams ensuring that there is clear alignment on data sources and reporting;
* You'll proactively identify and implement changes in IAG Loyalty’s core finance processes and internal controls to drive improvements in both efficiency and effectiveness.
Avios Breakage
* You'll lead the quarterly breakage review process for IAG Loyalty;
* You'll also work with key stakeholders across the business to leverage new information from IAG Loyalty’s actuaries to improve our understanding of customer trends and enhance our forecasting capabilities.
What we need from you
* You'll be an experienced qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA) with a comprehensive knowledge of IFRS 15.
* You're able to influence diverse audiences and build effective relationships both within IAG Loyalty and across IAG.
* An experienced team leader with previous experience of line management and coaching/development.
* You're adaptable and self-motivated with the ability to manage and prioritise demanding workloads and deadlines.
* You have an innovative mind-set with a sense of urgency who is excited to create something new, iterate, and embrace the IAGL values.
* You're comfortable making decisions, focused on customer-validation and data.
* You have a proven track record of developing & implementing process improvements.
* You can adapt to new situations and responsibilities, demonstrating agility and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
* You're able to work independently, continuously seeking opportunities for change and improvement with a ‘can do’/ ‘resolution based’ attitude to make these a reality.
* You have a high level of self-awareness, seeking feedback from peers and stakeholders.
* Experience of using SAP, Jira and Anaplan is desirable;
* Experience of loyalty businesses and/or the air travel industry is preferred.
We might not be right for you if:
You only want to focus on your to-do list; we’re a small, high-performing team, we help each other to succeed.
You value perfection over fast iteration and progress; IAG Loyalty moves fast, we learn and iterate as we go; our environment isn’t right for everyone.
You don't like dealing with ambiguity. We don't always have all the answers we need; we're a curious business so we thrive on finding out solutions to any issues.
If you think you have what it takes but don't meet every single point above, please do still apply. We'd love to chat and see if you could be a great fit.
In return you'll get Perks that take you places:
* Access to non-contractual Annual Bookable Travel Concessions for you and up to 3 nominees.
* Unlimited standby and premium standby fares for you and your nominees on the full British Airways network and numerous other partner airlines from day one.
* 20 days working from abroad in Europe per annum.
* Annual Bonus (dependent on company and individual performance).
* Company pension of 9% (6% contribution from IAGL, 3% employee contribution).
* 25 days annual leave, + 2 days charity leave and a day off on your birthday.
* New joiner, birthday and recognition Avios.
