Key Responsibilities: - Responsible for answering ad-hoc quote requests & RFQ participation, from both internal and external sources. - Managing and working to deadlines set both internally by colleagues and externally by our customers. - Follow the Expeditors Operational Performance and Trade Compliance Standards at all times. - Work closely with our Sales and Account Management team to provide timely responses to quote requests from customers. - Make sure that ongoing pricing is maintained and distributed within our network and our customers, including regular updates to exp.o rates. - Provide insurance rates and information, as requested. - Plan and engage in Air & Ocean department meetings to discuss market intelligence and develop sound knowledge of the Air and ocean markets. - Review pricing goals and pricing expectations periodically with Expeditors Air and Ocean leadership teams to ensure buy-in and accountability. - Attend regular meetings with Expeditors Regional Quoting and Bid Teams to support Expeditors regional pricing goals and objectives. - Develop relationships with Expeditors teams globally at origin and Destination to secure the most competitive pricing available and to receive timely responses to requests. - Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors (airlines, trucking companies, and others) in order to secure the most competitive pricing possible. - Provide exceptional customer service at all times. - Follow up with all customers on ad-hoc quotes provided to gain feedback and answer any additional questions. - Maintain contact with bid owners to support and follow up on bid results. - Customer feedback and quote outcomes to be logged within the quoting tool for visibility purposes. - Analysis of quotes and feedback received to analyze and trend local market conditions and win ratios by customer/lane. Knowledge, Skills and Behavior: - Attention to detail should be a natural characteristic. - Must have the ability to prioritize and work within deadlines. - Good knowledge and understanding of incoterms. - Be a team player and can listen, comprehend, and effectively communicate. - Ability to execute tasks with limited direction and oversight, against tight deadlines. - Strong multi-tasking, timekeeping, and organizational skills. - Good computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook). - Ensure to embrace new systems and software to maintain pricing advantage for the branch. - Be open to implementing new system changes and enhancements. - Be involved and suggest system/process improvements. - Exceptional Customer Service. Education and Experience: - Having experience in pricing and knowledge of the market. - Understanding of Air and Ocean transportation.
