Associate Director at Sheridan Maine - Permanent and Interim Finance Recruitment
Our client is actively seeking a Company Accountant to join their team. Partnering exclusively with Sheridan Maine, this acquisitive SME has ambitious plans to increase their turnover by up to 50% over the next three years. You will be at the heart of a capable and friendly team who take pride in their business.
The role will be based predominantly at their South Birmingham/North Worcestershire HQ with travel at least weekly to other locations in the Birmingham area. A pool car is provided for travel between sites, a car driver is required for this reason. Up to one day per week can be worked from home.
The role leads a team of 3, and you will enjoy the opportunity to improve systems and processes.
Your responsibilities as the Company Accountant will include:
* Oversee the finance function and daily operations of the finance team.
* Serve as the key Finance point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
* Manage the financial accounting system and processes.
* Oversee month-end accounts preparation, executive report packs, and improve the costing model.
* Review management accounts and balance sheets, investigating variances with the Senior Management Team.
* Provide monthly performance analysis to support business goals.
* Provide financial support to the Board for decision-making and business planning.
* Manage the year-end process and take responsibility for balance sheet and reconciliations.
The successful Company Accountant will require the following skills and experience:
* Accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, or ACCA) or qualified by experience (QBE) with relevant background.
* Experience in the SME sector.
* Experience of managing the complete month end process.
* Leadership qualities and confidence to work closely with non-finance colleagues.
