Are you a seasoned PHP developer with a passion for clean code, modern frameworks, and engineering excellence? I'm currently working with a market-leading automotive business, headquartered in the Midlands, who are looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join their growing remote team.
This is a fully remote role with flexible working hours, though you'll need to be available during core hours of 9am-5pm.
What You'll Be Doing:
You'll hit the ground running with a high-profile migration project - moving their legacy CakePHP systems over to Laravel. This is a key part of their digital transformation journey, and you'll be right at the centre of it.
Beyond the migration, you'll be:
1. Building out new features
2. Squashing bugs and improving performance
3. Assisting with deployment and release management
4. Working across a modern DevOps environment
Tech Stack You'll Be Working With:
5. PHP (CakePHP & Laravel)
6. JavaScript (Vue.js or jQuery)
7. CI/CD Pipelines
8. DevOps tools (e.g., Docker, Jenkins, etc.)
9. SQL databases
10. 3rd party API integrations
What We're Looking For:
11. Strong experience in CakePHP and Laravel
12. Solid front-end skills with Vue.js or jQuery
13. Comfortable with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling
14. Confident working with SQL and integrating with external APIs
15. A self-starter who can thrive in a remote-first environment
