This role
involves encouraging customers to be as independent as possible and be involved in social activities, so they are a valuable part of the community. We have a culture of doing things with people, instead for them.
You will be closely working with our customers, enabling them to live as independently as possible, whilst supporting them to lead an active and fulfilled life. Therefore, this role requires flexibility.
This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours a week, based on a rota, including work during weekends and bank holidays.
The shifts vary and are dependent on customers’ needs.
Early – 7:30am to 15:00pm
Late – 14:30pm to 22:00pm
Mid – 08:00am to 16:00pm or 09:00am to 17:00pm or 10:00am to 18:00pm
There is the opportunity for sleep in shifts, too, which are paid extra, on top of the contracted salary.
This is a scheme regulated by CQC and therefore support with personal care is a requirement.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have a passion for working closely with people with learning disabilities, autism and/or complex needs and want to constantly promote and support our customers’ well-being and maximise their choice and control and independence.
You will need the following skills and experience to the role:
-Experience of delivering care & support to vulnerable individuals, with learning disabilities, autism and/or complex needs.
-Experience in creating, reviewing and implementing support plans and risk assessments.
-Good verbal and written communication skills.
-As all of our records are recorded on a central IT system, confidence at learning new IT skills is also required.
-Ability to conduct reports within a deadline.
To meet our commitment to providing safe, high-quality services to our customers we will complete an enhanced background check with the Disclosure and Barring service, which will include a check of the Adult Barred list, once an offer of employment is made. A new check will be completed every three years.
